On May 7, 2026, Team Pennsylvania released the Pennsylvania Nuclear Energy Roadmap, a coordinated framework to align stakeholders and strengthen the commonwealth's position as a national leader in nuclear energy. Developed by more than 70 leaders representing over 50 organizations, the roadmap outlines a shared strategy focused on strengthening leadership and collaboration, sustaining and modernizing the existing nuclear fleet, enabling deployment of new and ready-to-deploy nuclear technologies, expanding Pennsylvania's nuclear supply chain, and building a future-ready talent pipeline.
Team Pennsylvania is a statewide nonprofit and public-private partnership, co-chaired by Governor Josh Shapiro and private sector leadership. The roadmap was developed through collaboration among industry, government, labor, academia, and nonprofit stakeholders, including participation from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. The Department's Energy Programs Office is also a member of NASEO's Advanced Nuclear First Mover Initiative, which advances next-generation nuclear technologies.
